Regrettably Chicago's favorite season is coming to a close, but to send off summer '16 in style North Coast Music Festival returns to Union Park on Chicago's west side to bring you "summer's last stand". 3 days of non-stop mayhem for 8 hours each day, and throw in more than a handful of after parties, and you have quite the weekend planned.

Like we do with all of our favorite festivals, the These Days team has compiled it's ideal schedule for the weekend just in case you were looking for a little guidance. If our musical taste doesn't mirror yours (not sure why you'd be reading this then), you can always make your own custom schedule. In addition to the music, make sure to explore the festival grounds and check out all the great vendors returning this year. Whether you're looking for a new hat, some art to hang on your wall, or just some good grub to soak up whatever you decide to put in your body this weekend, the North Coast vendors have something for everyone.

Now take a moment to look at the festival line-up through the These Days lenses. We'd like to think we did a pretty good job selecting some "must see" performances.  

Day 1

Getting off work on a sunny Friday? Perfect. Get into the mood of the weekend by catching the Soul Summit DJs who open the weekend on the Coast Stage from 3-4. A perfect appetizer, by about 3:45 you'll be primed and ready for the smooth, soul-packed beauty that is Jamila Woods over on the North Stage. Performing songs from her recent project, HEAVN, yet another favorite that dropped earlier this year. By 5, you'll be sufficiently ready for a turn up and yet another local is there to heed your wishes as Zebo returns to the North Coast lineup once again, this time hitting the Heineken House at 5:15. From there, I'd wander to the North Stage and catch some of Philly producer Baauer's set and watch everyone wait for "Harlem Shake" before soaking in some Galantis at the Skyline Stage at 6:30. After that? T the f**k up with Juicy J and carry it over to Odesza before hitting those after parties.

Day 2

Day 2 you had damn well get there early to catch Ric Wilson's set on the Skyline Stage bright and early at 1:15 for what should prove to be a magical experience. As we reported, Wilson earned his spot after a contentious voting process for the 'Toast of the Coast' contest for a spot at the festival which was erased by a show-stopping live performance at the Chop Shop last month. Having just released his latest album, Soulbounce, I'd expect something special. After Ric, I'd scoot over to the Coast Stage for Michael Christmas at 1:45. Remember this stage, you'll be returning often. But, this is a great cocktail-grabbing time, allowing a chance to browse a couple stages like Thibault at 2:45 in the Heineken House and Future Rock back at Coast at 4. Vulfpeck hits at 4:45 over on the Skyline Stage, a band that has been making some steady noise for a couple years and might prove a welcome surprise in this slot. It's really just a tie-over though to Ty Dolla $ back over, you guessed it, The Coast Stage. Get there early, leave there early though as Ty starts at 5:45 and Raury goes on just a little later, 6:30. It's the first true tough scheduling conflict of the weekend, but the These Days team has to err on the side of our man Raury for this one. Stick there for what should be a dope performance from Keys N' Krates before continuing your dedication to the Coast Stage by catching Logic, who closes it out. Having last seen him at an absolutely crazy, sold out affair at The Aragon Theater, we're sure Logic will have something special for his Chicago fans.

Day 3

You made it to day 3, congratulations, you're a festival pro. It's the last day, so get their early and start your day with Chicago's own Cofresi at the North Stage and slide over to the Coast Stage immediately following for Jamaica's Jesse Royal. Some electronic beats followed by reggae vibes, this is going to be a good day. Take a short break after Jesse and hydrate before The Polish Ambassador, an electronic DJ out of Oakland, CA. Seek refuge from the sun in Heineken House to catch Chosen Few DJ Wayne Williams, a house music and industry legend that you can't pass up seeing in Heineken's small dome. Wrapping up the night is Mr. Ancient Aliens himself, Action Bronson over at the North Stage followed immediately by the Grammy award winning Zedd. The Russian and German DJ has earned his spot atop the North Coast lineup, still riding the wave of his 2015 release True Colors.
