Spring Awakening Music Festival Moves to Jackson Park from Solider Field

Spring Awakening Music Festival has officially moved form the confines of Soldier Field to historic Jackson Park and will run on June 10, 11 and 12th. The traditionally EDM/DJ festival will also be celebrating it's 5th Anniversary as a festival. The brand spent a few years as a concert at the now dormant Congress Theater and expanded to full festival at Soldier Field for 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015. Spring Awakening and it's producer React Presents announced that there will be six total stages featuring 2 Main Stages. In celebration of the 5-year anniversary and Jackson Park's notoriety as the historic home to the 1893 World's Fair, the festival will feature fireworks spectacles, interactive art installations, carnival rides and a ferris wheel.

The festival moved from Solider Field due to the stadium's hosting duties of the 100th edition of South American soccer tournament, Copa América. The tournament will be hosting games on June 5, 7, 10, 22nd interfering directly with Spring Awakening's traditional dates. 2016 Headliners will be announced later this Spring. Last years headliners included Tiesto, Zedd and Hardwell among other acts like Afrojack, Flosstradamus and this Midwest debut of now 2-time Grammy nominated Diplo and Skrillex as Jack Ü. More than 40,000 people attended the festival in 2015.

On the news of the re-location, founder of SAMF Jeff Callahan (React Presents) was quoted in the official press release as saying "Over the past year we've explored potential venues that have bigger footprints, and with 500+ acres of lakefront greenery, Jackson Park turned out to be a prime location." Callahan went on to say "Jackson Park allows SAMF to continue to grow as the largest dance music festival in the Midwest, with enough space to accommodate our growing number of fans, and will also allow for more stages and bigger production than ever before." Jackson Park is immediately south of the Museum of Science and Industry and near the University of Chicago. Jackson Park is approximately 10 mins South of Chicago's The Loop and in the Hyde Park and South Shore neighborhood.

This is React Presents second festival in the Southside area, with the debut of Mamby on The Beach hosted at Oakwood Beach in July of 2015. React Presents also produces Summer Set Music and Camping Festival in Wisconsin, Freaky Deaky at Toyota Park and Reaction NYE in Rosemont, IL. In Chicago, React promotes for nightclub The MID and more traditional music hall Concord Music Hall. React Presents is a SFX Entertainment, Inc., company.

Pre-sale tickets for the festival are on-sale now. 3-day General Admission Bands start at $169.00 and 3-Day VIP Passes start at $299.00. Tickets are available at SpringAwakeningFestival.com.
