Music, Live Art & Food
Sunday, July 17th at Sleeping Village (3734 W. Belmont Ave.)
Doors: 6:00PM | Ends: 11PM | 21+
This year, gates to live shows reopened and filled Chicago with joy and wonder as artists began to curate the new age. As we head into the heart of the summer, we’re met with the opportunity to catch a gift of a performance as two Chicago legends in oddCouple & Kweku Collins link up this weekend at Sleeping Village. Under the banner Soul Y Sol, this event has all the makings of an unforgettable evening set to be filled with sensational live DJs, majestic R&B, wavy house music, and even a food truck. Before the show we got to catch up with the two performers and hear more about their brotherhood and excitement for the show. Grab your tickets below & join some of the These Days team this Sunday at SV, we don’t recommend missing the reunion of these warm ecstatic creators. - Michael Magitman

A Conversation with oddCouple & Kweku Collins
How did you and Pachanga come together for Sol y Soul?
oddCouple: It's actually crazy, I met one of the Pachanga homies playin ball. It was early 2021 and courts just reopened, and we just had fun man. Didn't know what each other did or anything, just wanted to keep the good times going. Next thing you know we unravel the mystery and are like "we gotta do something..” Realizing very quickly how many ppl and interests we had in common, plus mutual respect, Sol Y Soul damn near developed itself from there (jokes - we did a lot of work, pop out!)
An aspect of Soul Y Sol we were excited to hear about was the food, especially after seeing some of your IG Stories lately. Do you have a favorite pre-show dish to make/eat?
oddCouple: Ironically my pre show meal is Tacos. Corn tortilla of course. I need something light I can move around on but also some shit I can smack as much of as possible. Tacos are hella portable too which helps when you might have to run all over the place pre-show!
The night will feature musical performances from you & Kweku - you two go back . How does it feel to be able to perform with one of your close friends?
oddCouple: Kwe is family man. We've been on tour together, opened for each other, and travelled the world together so it's really just comforting to hang and do what we do. I really feel like other people can tell how much fun we have together and that really makes it easy.

Kweku, same question for you - with you two going back almost a decade, how does it feel to be able to perform with OC on this?
Kweku: It’s dope. Sharing the stage, and these moments of art and celebration with people I love makes it more fun for me. We’re comfortable up there with each other cause we’ve done it a lot. The relationship translates.
We’re really excited to catch your set Sunday - it’s been some time since we’ve gotten to hear from you. Will you be playing any new material?
Kweku: Yeah, I’ll be playing a couple records from my new album. A little old, a little new.
