After touring around the globe alongside Mick Jenkins and being featured heavily on Kirk Knight's debut album, theMIND is now preparing for the rollout of his upcoming (see also: highly anticipated) 2016 release. "Mercury Rising", his first single, is a fairytale stuck on the street corner. It's the story of a moonlit dreamer looking to the sky and grasping for greatness. Even when he's stuck up in the clouds ("selling moonrocks"), he's not pleased, because clouds are high, but not high enough. Because stardom requires outer space, somewhere a standard airplane can't reach. 

Blending imaginative wordplay and passionate lyricism over finely tuned, atmospheric production, the whole track couldn't be more pleasing. It even has instrumental assistance from Sylvie Grace on cello and Donnie Trumpet on....trumpet.
