Each week the These Days staff comes across great music from Chicago artists that we could not provide individual features for. In an effort to keep our readers up to date with more of our recent favorites, the Round Up segment provides quick summaries and additional noteworthy content. Check out our latest picks below and feel free to submit a comment if you feel we missed something.

DJ Taye (Ft. DJ Manny) • "Burnin' Ya Boa"

Today we’ve got a track from DJ Taye called “Burnin’ Ya Boa", featuring DJ Manny, a patient song you can sink into. There's a visual as well, featuring some head spinning footwork from DJ Taye and Manny themselves, incorporating the as impressive dance aspect of the genre. If juke isn't your usual flavor, it’ll hardly matter because in this case, Taye has taken the less minimal approach, filling the song with interesting moments and sounds. That’s really what it comes down to; if you like interesting music, listen to Teklife, DJ Taye, DJ Manny, and their track “Burnin Ya Boa”.

Famous Dex (Ft. Lil Yachty) • "Drip From My Walk (Remix)"

Famous Dex's biggest hit, "Drip From My Walk", has found it's way to the remix treatment from one of hip-hop's biggest, most buzzing names at the moment; Lil Yachty. The young boat and the high-energy,  controversial Chicago artist are both riding the same wave, so this remix is a logical one and something you know the fans have been waiting for. The "Drip From My Walk" buzz isn't done quite yet, listen to "Drip From My Walk" Remix below and stay tuned for more.

Freddie Old Soul • Freedom Papers

Freddie Old Soul is a local musician who's name offers insight into her music. Old soul that she is, the wisdom beyond her years can quickly be found in her new project Freedom Papers. There's reflection in her lyrics, with an aesthetic that actually straddles the line between tweak contemporary and something more classic. Freedom Papers intends to "...document her journey of self in a soul-driven hip hop narrative, influenced by the need for the preservation of culture. She reclaims her joy as an African-American woman in a system that does not serve and protect. It is freedom of fear and knowledge of self that triumphs the evil-doers of this world." it's Freddie Old Soul's songwriting and perspective that holds the project together.

G Herbo • Strictly 4 My Fans

New G Herbo? 'Nuff said, and the album title speaks for itself. Strictly 4 My Fans is dedicated to the people that supported G Herbo from the Lil Herb days to now, a Chicago rapper gone national and performing in his prime. Available on Spotify but also out there on Youtube, Strictly 4 My Fans is exactly what a G Herbo fan wants to see; hard beats, rough, manic flow and, and the wild lyricism we've all come to expect from the high quality brand that he's created for himself.

Lil Chevy • "Gucci Bucket"

A little slow to the draw on this one, but better late than never. Lil Chevy has teamed up with Decent Militia's Arlen Texas loving producer Squared Hill for a track that will blast any party off in less than 2 minutes flat. If you don't know them, this will be the perfect introduction. Like many songs from the Decent Militia crew, "Gucci Bucket" has irresistibly high energy, a song that you'll unconsciously find putting on repeat without fail.  Chevy keeps up the pace with vocals that dare the listener to not bounce, and Squared Hill matches those vocals up with the perfect Decent groove, both lurching and feel good, to keep the track moving. These guys put out music fast so keep your eyes peeled for more Decent hits.
