Chris Mathien • "C.A.L.M."

A former Chicagoan but still considered family around here, Chris Mathien returned with an incredible album that unfortunately slipped by our radar during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. The 14 track C.A.L.M. offers up a collection of funky and folksy ballads, some of which we've heard in proceeding months and some brand new. A real must hear project and perfect for a quite day at home. Kick back, relax and let Mathien keep you calm. 

Edamame • Cold Floors EP II

Edamame has had an awesome 2016, getting tapped by the massive DJ and producer Emancipator for East and West coast tours, as well as getting signed to Loki records. Basically, his name is starting to ring bells across the country. Edamame creates some of the most chilled out production you'll find in Chicago, and he's got a new project for warming yourself up in this polar vortex. It's called Cold Floors EP II, and it's got a vibe that represents the winter to the fullest. Lil Bibby (Ft. Meek Mill & PNB Rock) • "Some How Some Way"

Everybody loves Lil Bibby, and he's been scooping up some dope features recently. Recently he had popped up with 21 Savage, and now we've got a new track with Meek Mill and PNB Rock. PNB Rock is one of hip-hop's exciting up and comers right now, so the mellow track "Some How Some Way" is as good an opportunity as any to acquaint yourself. PNB's chorus is crazy smooth, and Bibby breaks down his life style with his characteristic honesty. Throw in some Meek and you've got a killer track.

Mick Jenkins • "Spread Love"

Seems like Mick Jenkins has been a touring machine since The Water(s), but the man still finds the time to record some pretty monumental music, and as for the accompanying videos, sometimes he does them on the fly while on the road alongside his tour photographer and These Days friend Bryan Allen Lamb. Compiling some personal moments on the road, Mick Jenkins spreads love by letting his fans in on the everyday life of Mick Jenkins. Definitely some great moments backed by a highlight from Mick's The Healing Component, "Spread Love".

The A.S.A. Project

The A.S.A. Project is anything but "Normal", as the song suggests. With a whirlwind of compelling autotune, a grabbing chorus and powerful production, "Normal" is unusual but very worth listening to, and a good starting point if you're new to The A.S.A. Project. Get different, check out "Normal".
