The best part about a Joseph Chilliams release is that he’s always going to find new ways to make you smile. He’s a gifted songwriter with a knack for hilarious yet relatable storylines that attracts even the most somber listener for a few minutes of fun. On “Buck,” he’s paired with the equally skilled MFN Melo for a Pivot Gang collab filled with off the wall punchlines over murky synths and eerie vocal chops. For the video, directed by Mr. Chilliams himself, the typical rap formats and guidelines are thrown out the window. Instead, we get Joseph and his friends doing Christmas carol raps outside white people’s homes while the protagonist shows off some of his legendary dance moves on camera.
