Femdot • "King Dilla Freestyle"

Directed by Cole Bennett

Chicago is chock-full of talent these days and one of my favorites to emerge as of late has definitely been the one and only Femdot. Part science student by day, ruthless bar-killer by night, Fem has built an aesthetic for himself on breathless bars and a unique, heavy-handed delivery that benefits plenty from his baritone vocals. He's spent the summer time hitting stages in the wake of his F(our) release with the drop of a Cole Bennett-assisted visual for "King Dilla Freestyle".

While Fem is often a soft-spoken dude with a smile not too far from his face, his alter ego of King Dilla often strays into territories Fem wouldn't on his own. Utilizing the split personality as a sort of literary device to eschew more of a story than he can sometimes explain in his own voice, Fem shows off one side of his delivery here, diving full force into the alter-ego of sorts. Riding over a soul-inspiring beat from MikeWavvs, Fem casually strolls through a sort of deserted forest-scape while explaining why you don't want none from Dilla.

The video also comes packaged with an announcement of Fem's follow-up project, titled THR(WE) due out July 26th. Tracklist available below as well, we're definitely looking forward from more from an act that's taking leaps to the front of the line locally. Catch Fem this coming Monday at my Yung Creatives panel alongside Ravyn Lenae and more, but first hit play on the video above.
