This city is so much more than just rap music. Seriously, go out to a small venue or bar anywhere around Chicago on a given night and you'll easily find a talented somebody. That's essentially how I cam across the beautifully layered, booming voice of the one and only Krystal Metcalfe who released her latest solo single, "Sallie" earlier this week.

Having met Krystal on a few occasions, she really caught my eye when performing at an after-show for Eryn Allen Kane's debut performance at City Winery back in March. Without much forwarning her easily-recognizable voice, hand-picked by our June Cover Artist, Krystal impressed immediately and had the packed crowd on their heels from the get-go. On this one, Krystal teams up with a soulful corner of the city including Sam Trump, Sam Fullerton and plenty more on this endlessly soulful single that wastes no time getting you right into the mix of things. Krystal's a special talent in the city that's just beginning to make a mark on her own.
