Ric Wilson rips his new track "We Love Us", released today via Mass Appeal. The activist and artist continues to use his voice to lift up the city in every way he knows how. "We Love Us" is a track on pain and love in Chicago, and communities across the country. More specifically, Ric Wilson levels the endlessly true, yet no less depressing, refrain that when it comes to the powers that be and their relationship with African-Americans, "you was never really down with us, you ain't never give a shout to us". Ric poses the alternative of the self-reliance inherent to self-love. Featuring David Ellis and Daryn Alexus on the mic as well, the track is maxed out with beautiful vocals. Just as impressive is the beat from KDAGREAT, which is easily going in my top 5 of Ric production.  But the message is what matters, Ric Wilson can see it clearly, and you gotta love that.
