On a late night at Classick Studios I had the blue room booked out and it was Phendi, Logan, Tony (assistant/ tracking engineer), a couple other people, and myself. I was playing through a few of the beats I had been sent from various producers trying to find the perfect one for Phendi and company to jump on. I go thru a few and finally came across one from producer josh.wav (formally known as Dank) that everyone agreed was fire and the one that should be worked on. Tony behind the boards arranging the beat, ideas of topic and bars start forming from Phendi and Logan as Phendi spits “cake cake cake I been waiting lady”, you hear Logan “wave baby, way too wavy baby” and I instantly feel the start of a hit being made. I text Josh and let him know we got one, alerting him that Phendi and Cage decided to jump on one of the most recent beats he sent me. 

Flash forward a couple days after an all night session finishing the record, I book more time with Headache because we all knew that this one needed some Head on it. We’re back in the blue room this time the crowds a little thicker, smoke is heavy in the air, but this time we decided why not shroom while we mix this? If you’ve never done shrooms, lets just say the energy of the room was at an all time high, we’re all heavily idea driven, and coming up with ideas and sometimes relaying them it felt like without even speaking. A couple hours later the suns rising and we have a near final mix (everyone knows engineers are never truly done) everyones coming down from their trip but still filled with excitement for how dope this record came out. 

Summers coming to a close, so it only made sense for the guys to get this record out before the end. This is definitely one of those records that’ll T up any function you’re at or be the background music to that paper chase most of us stay on.
