After releasing The Dragon Who Devoured the Moon back at the beginning of 2015, Chicago rapper (and world class smiler) Vagabond Maurice went quiet. Like James Cameron with Avatar 2 (I hear he's filming in the deep ocean), VM took his time crafting his sound and shaping the story that would ultimately become the anticipatory sequel. 

As summer comes to a close, he decided to let loose the lead track off of the upcoming album, Watching Icarus Fly. The single, "Flowers for Icarus", is one hell of a kickstarter, reminding the world to not be sleeping on the dreamy, fable rhymes of Maurice. Grabbing relaxing production from LA-based beatsmith, Chinsaku, the song fits nicely as a faraway daydream, like waking up after a long and therapeutic nap, only to stretch and return to slumber mode. Described on his SoundCloud description as "a wistful atmosphere sculpted for autumn" and with the album pitched as a continuation of "the journey for inner peace through break beats and jazz riffs", the new track has most certainly hyped us and will hold us over until we hear the full length, due at the end of September.
