Words by Vonn Heir Jay

Late nights working hard in what would be labeled “The Head Room” throughout the week at Classick Studios, you would find TLNTD, along with his manager/ mixing engineer HeadAche and executive producer Epidemic, producing, writing, recording, and mixing. From these late nights, and even a relocation for TLNTD and HeadAche to the sunny Westside, we receive eXpectations in final form.

The five track EP serves as a statement, showcasing many styles all while remaining true to himself. If you’ve followed TLNTD under any of his previous monikers, you are aware that the new music as of late has been a lot different than his past music. We hear more melodies in his music, inspired by awesome production choice that have found him in a brand new comfort zone. Still giving you bars, but there's more textures to his process now a days.

eXpectations carries only two features, from fellow up-risers Kiyah Mitchell (Chicago transplant via Kansas City) and his very talented roommate MIDI. Even keeping it very close to home with the additional production choices and instrumentation as he calls on the talented Toi, Phil Free, and Jredd. All elements to this project have been key to the development of TLNTD and the ones that have helped him keep pushing his level of expectation. Take a minute to vibe through this short but satisfying EP, and see if it meets your expectations.
