Qari • "Motions"

Directed by LONEWOLF

At this point, I'm more than comfortable admitting that Qari is easily one of my favorite rappers doing his thing here in Chicago. A deep soul with a thoughtful disposition and an always-fun attitude, he certainyl appears to have a long career in music ahead of him and he started off his assault on 2017 appropriately, debuting the visual for his single "Motions" produced by (who else?) Mulatto Beats.

The video itself is an impressive one to be sure, perhaps an early contender for one of the best of 2017. Utilizing a plethora of creatively-tuned drone shots throughout, the video at times makes Qari appear as a sort of Hancock-esque character perched high above the city. Likewise, the song itself is not to be missed and sets the tone for what we can expect from this pairing as we further detach ourselves from 2016. Plus, that one-piece camo fit goes way too hard.

A theme throughout this year for us is definitely going to revolve around the idea of waves of creativity and as Qari warms up for his sixth summer, the 20-year-old continues to prove why he's amassed a cult-following amongst the city's underground. Get in tune with the visual above.
