This month for our cover story, we turned to an obvious choice in local rapper, Femdot. Ray Mestad waxed poetic on the process of his music and overnight we got a long-awaited offering in the form of Fem's (u)no EP which came packaged alongside a surprise full-length, 20/20 Hour

A common theme throughout our cover story was the careful strategy Femdot applies to his music and this latest collection comes as an exclamation point on the end a series that has run the course of the last few months. The TheseDays team got a sneak peek at the project in live form last weekend at Fort Knox on the city's northwest side and to hear the project in final recordings, they certainly stack up to just about anything that's dropped in the lane so far this year. In many ways Femdot is a bit of a throwback. His rhymes come tightly packed, an obvious student of the contemporary rap of his early days packaged with an understanding of today's rhythm and rhymes schemes. Everlastingly honest, with a true story to tell throughout, Fem's proved with this series that he's fully prepared to ascend to the next level of his own journey.

Proving a special ability for theme, Fem simultaneously unveiled a surprise full-length, 20/20 Hour which is a packaging of the individual EPs as one fluid project. Each possesses its own unique motif and personality and together create a complex mosaic of one young person's experiences growing up in modern day Chicago.
