Ajani Jones is an up and coming member of the AEMMP Records roster that is looking to have his project emanate from the rolled down windows of summertime cruises. His debut full-length project, Eternal Bliss, is both reflective and performative, in the sense that Jones clearly wants the listen to work on both a casual and more reflective level. It’s a good album for a backyard barbeque or for a long train ride by yourself, and that indicates a strong, tightly put together project that Jones deserves recognition for. Making its premiere on Fake Shore Drive this past weekend, the MC has got people’s ears and will be in rotation for many in the Second City.
