Abstract artist Jack Larsen follows up with a music video for his latest single “I Became My Brother”. Directing it himself, Jack embraces his insecurities and necessity to step out of his comfort zone to reach his ambitions. The first shot is him timidly looking into the mirror drinking coffee while wearing his ugly hoodie. Profoundly, we are taken into Jack’s complicated mindset where different moods dictate his train of thought. Throughout this searching, he feels ever-connected to his brother. Incorporating footage of young Jack with his brother gives the video a holistic feel. It’s touching to see at times of low confidence and self-esteem, Jack can turn to his brother for hope. Throughout the video, Jack’s size in the video is maximized or minimized to tie themes of self-individualization and fear. In every Jack Larsen video, the creativeness to differentiate his craft from the rest of his competition is noteworthy to see.
