The O'My's, Kweku Collins Among Locals Headlining 'Chi-Town Rising' New Years Event
"Tens of Thousands" are expected to spend their New Years Eve on Upper Wacker Drive, apart of a inaugural event titled "Chi-Town Rising." The night's 'big moment' will feature a 70-foot, six-point “Chicago” star rising 360 feet up the Hyatt Regency Chicago’s West Tower as the clock strikes midnight in The Windy City.
Stages will feature performances by The O'My's, Kweku Collins, JC Brooks & The Uptown Sounds, The NuLu Band, Carlito Olivero, Radio Free Honduras, and DJ Sye Young will be behind the decks throughout the evening. The night will be capped off with a headlining performance from classic rock band Chicago and a fireworks spectacle.
The evening's events begin at 7:00PM with NBC Chicago reporting live at 11:00PM and a kick-off performance on the air from alternative pop band American Authors. More information can be found at Chi-TownRising.com.
The music heavy event goes up against many New Years events across town, most notably Reaction NYE out in Rosemont, IL at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center featuring performances from local hero Chance The Rapper, Run The Jewels, Skrillex, deadmau5 and more.
