Smino Swings By Hot 97 For Real Late With Peter Rosenberg Interview
After spending almost 2 years rocketing through the Chicago music scene, Smino's name is moving into the ears of the national audience. The Chicago via St. Louis rapper sat down with Peter Rosenberg to give the rundown on his trajectory and approach as an artist. Discussed are his use of vocals and their place in the current wave, his balance of content between "ratchetness and righteousness", a hilarious description of his approach to social media as "Lurk Franklin" and more. He also took the opportunity to inform listeners of the creative laboratory that is the Chicago hip-hop landscape. Says Smino, "I'm 100% St. Louis, but Chicago...if you're a creative and you go there, you're going to see some people doing some cold shit and you're gonna be really inspired...I love the city, I love Chicago, it's definitely my second home." A huge congrats to Smino, count on the exposure to continue.
