The New York Times has recognized West Side Chicago singer and music video director Jean Deaux as a future act in R&B in their style-based T Magazine. The 20-year old was featured in These Days 'Home Team' series back in December 2015. The piece published February 9th, 2016 highlights "Seven of the freshest new voices model bold, sculptural designs — and sing for T" and is titled 'The New York Times The Season’s Most Seismic Earrings, on R&B and Hip-Hop’s Rising Stars.' The other voices on the list include Tinashe, SZA, ABRA, Lord Narf, Def Loaf and Empress Of. Deaux is the only Chicago artist on the list with Detroit's Def Joaf as the only other Midwest representative. The piece notes Deaux's album 'Soular System Vol. II' is due out this year. Check out the full fashion slideshow featuring the entire list at The New York Times.

The slideshow is accompanied by a 'on set' video highlighting the vocals of all the women featured on the list. Check out more features on Jean Deaux on TheseDays.News.
