Sir the Baptist to Headline Chicago Grammy Telecast Party, Tops Spotify Viral 50 Chart

On January 29th, 2016 The Record Academy's Chicago Chapter announced that Chicago rapper/singer Sir the Baptist will serve as the headlining performance for the 58th GRAMMYs Telecast Viewing Party held on Monday, February 15th at Thalia Hall in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago. The event is held for Recording Academy Members and their guests. The Chicago chapter serves as the home base for members that live in Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Ohio, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas and parts of Missouri. The Recording Academy is made up of singers, songwriters, engineers, producers, managers and a wide range of professionals working in the music industry. The event will be emceed by Grammy-nominated Soul/Gospel singer Anita Wilson. Sir the Baptist will be the only artist performing at the Chicago telecast party. The Grammys will air at 7:00PM CST on CBS.

A few days after the announcement, Sir The Baptist and his song "Raise Hell" featuring ChurchPeople is currently the #1 spot on the United States Viral 50 Chart on Spotify. The list describes itself as a 'daily update of the most viral tracks in United States' on the platform. The chart into account both total streaming numbers alongside user sharing metrics. According to Spotify "Success on this chart is driven by a passion that leads to fans sharing music that they want others to discover."
