Monster Mike • "Already"

197 and The Village affiliate Monster Mike is back at it with his new video for "Already". While Mike went by Lil' Upset with the release of November's "Sizzurp", this time he's under the fictionalized moniker of Sleezy. Here, he performs some seriously relaxed raps. Monster Mike might be the first rapper to shoot a video while eating a sandwich. Is that a pita?
With a rare cameo by the legendary/elusive Big Body Fiji, the video comes edited by Monster Mike and directed by 197 rapper/producer/filmmaker Kolby Woods. Mike has done some recent video directing for Adamn Killa and Kolby has been busy dropping EPs on his SoundCloud. Together, the two are known as IWDAFY (I Was Drunk as Fuck Yesterday). Although we haven't heard a proper project from IWDAFY, it's nice to see the duo continuing to work. In regards to "Already", the Linus produced trap heater is a nice release from Monster Mike, who's been occasionally releasing singles, all the while teasing a debut project. As the streets wait patiently for that release to come to fruition, his visual for "Already" is welcomed with open arms. Along with premiering the video (and audio), we talked to Mike briefly about "Already" and his plans for 2016.
What can you tell us about the video for "Already"?
It was kinda spur of the moment. Me and Kolby basically made it ourselves. I actually thought we didn't have enough loud, but it turned out okay. We shot it at my crib, and my friend Kendel (who's in the video with me) just turned 21 last week so check out his SoundCloud.
Will this be on an upcoming project or is it a loose single?
If I ever make a project with trap beats, this is the first single. You heard it here first.
What can we expect from you going into 2016?
Cash Me Out the debut solo project from Monster Mike, and an EP with Kolby Woods. Hopefully more face tattoos.
