Mojek • World of Mojek EP

119 presents the first in it's Artist Series with a 7 track EP from Chicago producer Mojek as he takes you on a journey into the World Of Mojek. Featuring some awesome guest spots from local show stoppers including Ric Wilson, Angelenah, Jean Deaux, Dally Auston, Morimotto and Briggs Casso. World Of Mojek gives you a taste of what Mojek has going on inside his imagination and behind the boards. If you have seen Mojek perform live, you already know he's got the skills to get bodies moving, and as a producer his vertically might surprise you. If you are newly initiated, World Of Mojek is the perfect jump off point to introduce you to one of Chicago's illest, and he's just getting started! Enjoy!

At the end of last year, we ran an article on the collaborative single between Chicago producer Mojek and Chicago rapper Ric Wilson. The track, "The World", was released with the announcement that Mojek would be teaming up with production company 119 for a proper EP entitled World of Mojek. That EP arrived yesterday.

Plenty of Chicago favorites stop by for the party. Angelenah (formerly Angel Davanport) makes an appearance on the hypnotizing song "Push the Limit". Jean Deaux flows swimmingly on the watery track "Pop the Gun". SaveMoney member Dally Auston also makes a guest appearance on the track "Dally's Break", which acts as a fine follow-up to their collaborative remix track "Food N Liquor" from last year.

Quite possibly the strongest song on the project is the opening track "U 2 Young" with up-and-comer Morimoto (peep his debut project) and Briggs Casso. The songs paints one hell of an opening picture for this fast-paced EP, one that turns the party up a notch, one that begs to be played again just as quickly as it finished.

World of Mojek is yet another strong release from Mojek, who has the electronic/footwork/juke game on lock, and who is one of the more respected DJs/producers in the city. Enjoy the EP above and let us know what you think in the comment section below and if you're a sucker for credits (like me), enjoy the back cover directly beneath these words.
