Lucki Eck$ (Ft. Joey Purp) • "Deja Vu"
“Deja Vu", any chance the name is prophetic? Lucki Eck$ (dropping the "Eck$" for this particular release) and SaveMoney’s Joey Purp don’t seem to have collaborated before, though they have performed together in the past. A shame, because hearing “Deja Vu” for the first time makes their names ring in tandem clear as day, albeit a very murky one. The two rappers put their flows on a kickstand, taking their sweet time as they slur through the clouds.
The styles of the two go perfectly together which makes this track so enjoyable – the beat, courtesy of GRiMM Doza, is as hazy as they come, but the rhythm never gets lost, and Joey Purp and Lucki are slowly but surely guiding the way. Despite the pace, "Deja Vu" is a quick track, one that is enjoyably disorienting. Hopefully this release will result in some Matrix glitches so we can see this pair continue to keep the releases coming.
