San Soma • "It's Only Natural"

A song about moving forward ______________________________________ Performed by San Soma Written, Recorded, Mixed by Cody Samson Mastered by Dylan Gephart (@dylangephart) © San Soma 2016

Back in August, we heard the hypnotic single "Yearlong Pine" from Chicago singer/songwriter San Soma. Melancholy lyrics intertwined with electrified production to make an utterly unique solo piece. Since that time, we've heard San Soma assist with fellow Chicagoans on tracks "Sunburns" (with Kweku Collins, Iris Temple, and Jaro) and "s'light" (with Swill). Now, returning to the center stage, he gives us the single "It's Only Natural". Written, recorded, and mixed by San Soma, the song is 100% him, even down to the artwork. It's certainly more guitar-driven than "Yearlong Pine", but the two songs fit inside the same dimension where heartbreak means moving forward and eventually growing. Although San Soma is a Chicago artist, he attends school in Savannah, Georgia, and had to overpower a hurricane before being able to release this song. And I can't even get a text back. Be grateful and press play above.
