Ric Wilson (Ft. GLC) • "Nat"

Church is in session and Ric Wilson calls on Chicago veteran GLC to help spread the ism on his new single "Nat". Once again blending the his lives as a musician and activist, Ric Wilson finds inspiration from Nat Turner, a former slave that led a rebellion against slavery in 1831. Nearly two hundred years later and the people are still being treated unfairly because of the color of their skin.  While the last couple centuries have seen great change, the race conversation continues and as of late, it's looking like this conversation is going to turn into fists flying if significant reform doesn't occur.

Fresh off of Wilson's last project, The Sun Was Out, this new song is pitched as “soul bounce”. A sound that Ric has embraced since the beginning, as he offers up a mix of bouncy up tempo production and his educated social commentary. Wilson keeps it conscious and uses his voice for good while GLC breaks out of his normal mold a bit and spits some real shit. There's a strong union apparent in this track, one that connects generations and helps Chicago hip-hop continue to grow.
