Round Up • New Releases From Killavesi, Max Wonders, Teddy Jackson & More
Each week the These Days staff comes across great music from Chicago artists that we could not provide individual features for. In an effort to keep our readers up to date with more of our recent favorites, the Round Up segment provides quick summaries and additional noteworthy content. Check out our latest picks below and feel free to submit a comment if you feel we missed something.
Killavesi (Ft. Adamn Killa) • "Ballin Like Messi"
Killavesi and her bestie Adamn Killa link up on this incredibly catchy joint "Ballin Like Messi". The two really do complement each other’s soft-spoken autotuned style with great success. It's pretty cool to see the shift between male and female rapper counterparts on the same track. Hit the link below, but fair warning, it could get messi.
Max Wonders • "Grow Up"
Debuting as Max Wonders first single from his upcoming project Hues To Blame, "Grow Up" gives us a peek into the mind of Wonders himself. Max definitely has some mortality and morality complexes going on in this song and the musical byproduct is simply wonderful. The subtle 808’s provide just enough bang for the feeling of rhythmic impending doom.
PC Da Southboy (Ft. Ty Money) • "Come With The Power"
You know you’re in for a treat when the first second of a music video is a skimpy clothed woman shaking her booty on the kitchen floor. PC Da Southboy drops off the first visual, "Comes With The Power", from his upcoming project Life On A Line. He brings along Ty Money, because after all, the money comes with the power.
Rockie Fresh (Ft. BJ The Chicago Kid) • "Stars and Lights"
Rockie just put a project out and BJ The Chicago Kid is about to, but here's a new single that didn't end up on either for some reason. "Stars and Lights" produced by Mike Daley and Mitchelle Owens, slows down the fast pace these two musicians have been on lately to craft something special for the ladies. Homeless perhaps, but this song sounds like a radio smash to me.
Teddy Jackson • "Touch Down"
As football season slowly simmers down, Teddy Jackson brings us the final score with "Touch Down". The self produced track has its share of samples from our favorite NFL anthems. If your post season depression is kicking in as the winter rages on, be sure to hit the track below.
