It's a gift from me to you meant to hold you over until the official "Dead Again 3" drop (July 4th) because I appreciate the continued support over the years and wanna do something dope for y'all! So here it is, the "I'M DONE BALLIN'" EP! https://twitter.com/i/notifications

Supa Bwe is back! The Chicago MC that has made a living out of incessant and haphazard releases strikes again with his TheseDays-premiere of the latest collection, I'm Done Ballin'  EP that is available above for only the next twenty-four hours and continues his push forward as an act to pay attention to in the wake of his recent solo foray.

Since his recent break up with the Hurt Everybody collective, Supa has been on a tear, performing with a vengeance that continues to channel the spirit of Hurt while careening off into different artistic landscapes that come together to create an aesthetic that is wholly his own. This one also comes packaged with a series of familiar names such as ZenZan and UG Vavy, holdovers from the earlier regime and newcomers with a lot to offer. At three songs, the project is a brief follow up to his last project, The Dead Occasion and came in the midst of a sort of newfound freedom from the longtime local stalwart. It also somewhat references another earlier release, the 24 EP HE did with our very own NeonPajamas.

Currently in the plans for an upcoming tour, we caught up with Supa to talk about the thoughts behind the project, how it came to be and why he's only offering it to the masses for a single day. Catch all that in the Q+A below and get to know more on Supa and his odd way of dropping music in our October cover story, available above.

TheseDays • Your release practices have always been unconventional, and this surprise drop is no different. How did you come to decide to release a new single for “Dead Again 3” and the “Done Ballin” EP on the same day?

Supa Bwe • Because fuck life? Idk hahaha, I'm in the business of conquest and surprise attacks are just apart of it. Fuck order, fuck the traditional ways, I'm forging, NO, BURNING a brand new path for DIY artist like myself. The ones who don't have time to exploit social loop holes or trade favors in order to have their music considered, let alone recognised. Now the "Done Ballin EP" has one song from "Dead Again 3" and the other two are simply HOT ass throwaway track I want y'all to hear before I hate and hide them forever.

TheseDays • “Done Ballin” will only be available for 24 hrs? Why such a limited release? Will any of these tracks resurface on future projects?

Supa Bwe • I'm leaving it out for 24 hours because it's a momentary gift to my supporters for being so patient. It's also not a REAL project, it's more of a fun, laid back triple release. And yeah, ONE song WILL be on the Dead Again EP but I won't tell you witch one it is! You'll just have to wait and see!

TheseDays • The release of “Dead Again 3” will be the third year in a row that you’ve have a significant release on July 4th. What can you tell us about this year’s project and have will this conclude the “Dead Again” series?

Supa Bwe • I'm Dead Again forever so no, it's not a conclusion at all. This is lowkey the 4th time I'm doing this, I dropped a tape back in 2012 that was super slept on. But no, this project (Dead Again 3) is me showing off in my opinion. Show me a nigga at my level doing what I do, as well as I do it, while telling his actual life story rather than lying and feeding the listener delusions of grandeur. I produced my work, mixed my work and record myself. Not to mention my studio being my apartment. I live this shit, I give everything I have to this shit. When you finally hear the project, it's highs and lows, it's depth, you'll understand why I feel like I'm showing off. I feel limitless after my liberation! I can finally move in full Hurt Everybody mode without any hindrances.

TheseDays • Now let’s get down to the important stuff. It’s Sunday night and GOT is on a couple hours. Can we expect to hear any season 6 references on this new music?

Supa Bwe • Nah hahaha not this time. I'ma dog now. This EP is all reality based
