Them Flavors • 'Ceasefire World Compilation'

We gathered producers from around the globe, given the task of sampling traditional music. All proceeds are donated to Ceasefire, a branch of the Cure Violence Organization, which works in cities like Chicago, Baltimore, and New York to eradicate violence by working directly with high risk individuals and mobilizing community leaders in an effort to encourage a change in the perception of violence. In 7 Chicago communities where the program has been implemented, there have been reductions in shootings and killings of 41%-73%…you can check out more stats here:: http://bit.ly/27EkK2Z 100% Music Donations will go to: Ceasefire: http://cureviolence.org/partners/illinois-partners/ Follow Them Flavors: Events: http://on.fb.me/1QsTga1 More Free Download's >>> http://bit.ly/228bhy8 @equatorclub @jetairess @fobamusic @zsonic @dvwlx @nightwave808 @djomvvr @mytoboggan @deeppa_blasta @wildkatzmusic @highgrademuzik @sourceinvisible @fritzcarlton @6dayofaugust @sasquatch @zorenlomusic @hellopsychaleppo @stickyricardo @naussofficial

Them Flavors is one of Chicago’s most exciting local groups, a movement of DJ’s and producers who stay stuck on the realness, purveyors of some of the best dance music and dance parties you’re going to find in the city. They’ve got minds for more than partying though, and the collective has now put together a compilation for a cause – it’s ‘Ceasefire World Compilation’, a collection of truly international music with all proceeds being donated to the “Cure Violence” organization’s Illinois “Ceasefire” branch. If you’ve seen the incredible documentary, “The Interrupters”, this is the organization with which they operated in. The model is based on treating violence scientifically, as a virus or disease, using mediation and prevention to cut off the spread rather than waiting around for reactionary policy that often exacerbate existing issues.  The program works, with statistically significant reductions in violence in the Chicago communities they've  worked with.

The project is robust, featuring 22 tracks from artists literally across the world. The names may be new to you, but you’ve got to put on your headphones and trust Them Flavors, a crew who can out-curate just about anybody when it comes to finding the nichest, headiest, most out there dance music. From Russia to Malaysia to Chicago itself, you’re going to find some amazing tunes here.  Shouting out the hometown crowd specifically, Chicago artists on the compilation include Them Flavor’s Equator Club, Sasquatch, zorenLo, Saint Icky Ricardo, and Nauss. Zsonic, Phrixus, Foba, Farsight, and Fritz Carlton have all worked with Them Flavors in the past as well.  Check out something a little different, and help out the city we love so much. It’s a free project for download but you are encouraged to name your own price! Once again, all proceeds will go to Ceasefire. Find more information on Ceasefire here.
