Khallee • "El Paso"

El Paso is a collaboration between myself and Doom Dab producer Flex Lang. There are lots of twists and turns just for the sake of keeping it interesting, There's more coming in the future with an ep that is currently in the works.

Smooth yet wild singer/songwriter Khallee left Chicago last year but he's still a Windy City native. Because of this, he will always get attention at TheseDays. Most recently, the vocalist (formerly of JODY; do your homework) released the song "El Paso". Produced by Flex Lang (of Doom Dab), the song is autobiographical, free flowing, free. In the words of Khallee, "There are lots of twists and turns just for the sake of keeping it interesting. There's more coming in the future with an EP that is currently in the works." If this first track is a hint of what to expect, it's that we should have no idea what to expect. This four minute track is exactly what Khallee said: full of spins and swirls, flipping the switch multiple times and giving the effect of feeling like three or four songs in one. The result is effective, one difficult to properly emulate. "Where we goin' now?" I need more listens. This is great.

We go any place you wanna
Little pedestals, I place you on ‘em
Cause your sunshine makes me wanna
And your eyes still make me wonder”
— Khallee
