Xavier & The Thrill • 'The Thrill'

For as long as TheseDays has been operating, one constant has remained throughout, a full-length from Xavier & The Thrill. Our anticipation has spanned over a year, a name change and today, the product arrives in full as Xavier teamed up with Pigeons & Planes for the debut of his first long-form offering in a minute, save for a couple EP drops holding us over. Appropriately-titled The Thrill, the project is poised to grow into one of our favorites in an unprecedented year for local releases.

At fourteen tracks, this project spans a much larger subject area than anything we've seen from Xavier, formerly XVRHLDY at least in this calendar. For added frills, he taps some fellow locals to join him, including Cleveland Cavaliers star Iman Shumpert, Saba, YP and more for a sonically enjoyable ride that fittingly finds him stepping out from the shadowy backing of previous releases. While still new for us here as well, we couldn't be more pleased to have this project to pace the latter days of summertime and will be expecting plenty more from Xavier, Steven Louis and the whole Esselgy team in the coming weeks and months with this one off their shoulders.
