Ric Wilson • "Ponytail"

"Negrow Disco" April 2017. Me and Hurley Mower were both born April 17th, 1995. Come to my first headline April 15th and celbrate my release and birthday - http://www.lh-st.com/Shows/04-15-2017+Ric+Wilson Produced by: Hurley Mower aye if you like this shit repost for a day show love forreal y'all love mayne.

Perhaps no one else in Chicago has impressed more over the course of the last year than the city's own Ric Wilson. Offering up hot singles and entertaining visuals on a near-weekly basis since stepping out with his Soul Bounce project that has been a favorite here at TheseDays. As he preps for his first headlining show April 15 at The Metro, Wilson makes sure he does so with a fitting backdrop.

The date of the show isn't random, either. True to form, the Young Chicago Authors alum packs a story into this release. Teaming up with producer Hurley Mower, who he happens to share a birthdate (April 15, 1995) with, the track is an absolutely appropriate prologue for the upcoming live set. I'm a sucker for highly appropriate associations and this one seems to tightly-wound to make up. Plus, Ric and Hurley do their thing here as the latter seems fully capable of channeling the sounds that have come to pace Wilson's music thus far. Mower, for his part gets another nice credit here, building on a quickly-growing resume for the young producer that should have us typing his name with increased frequency throughout 2017. Catch both of them April 15, get your tickets here and come back around for more soon.
