Taylor Bennett • "Only Brother (A Special Remix)"
Yesterday Chance The Rapper celebrated his 24th birthday in style with a star-studded event at Studio Paris in Chicago's River North neighborhood. Capping a year that saw a whirlwind of awards, press conferences, tours and plenty else, it seemed as if he really has become the man that has it all. So what's a little brother to do to make the day special? Well, if you're the Bennett family, you make a song, as Taylor Bennett did with his single "Only Brother (A Special Remix)" that he released in celebration of his big brother's birthday.
Missing the festivities because he is currently out on his first headlining tour with Brian Fresco, Taylor dropped the song from afar after working on it in the background and keeping it hidden from Chano in the process. The song is reminscent of an artist that grew up listening to Kanye and bears the same DNA as the artist who has largely been credited with bringing soul and sentimentality back to hip-hop and Chance even tweeted that it brought a tear to his eye upon first listen. Taylor has come a long way himself in the last couple of years and has recently shown a propensity to speak freely and without worry. Here, that ability takes centerstage as he opens up about what it means to be one of the biggest star in the world's little bro. Check the track out yourself above.
