Lupe Fiasco tweeted over the weekend that he would be releasing three full albums in 2016. Lupe alluded to the first project being titled Drogas and would feature a lyric heavy song called "Mural Jr." A few weeks ago, Lupe Instagramed an image of Pope Francis alongside the word "Drogas." Lupe released his last album in the Spring of 2015 titled Tetsuo & Youth. Lupe also released a six song EP in August 2015 titled Pharaoh Height. None of the three releases next year will be the highly anticipated follow-up to the his second studio album The Cool (Grammy nominated, Best Rap Album 2009), a concept album featuring a character from his debut project Food & Liquor. Fans and the hip-hop community have been calling for the concept follow-up for several years. When tweeting about The Cool's 8-year anniversary, he noted it would not come out until the winter of 2017.
Shortly after, Lupe also announced a 17-date national tour. Currently there are no scheduled Chicago dates. Head over to LupeFiasco.com/Tour for more information.
