Closed Sessions Founder Featured on ABC Chicago's Windy City Live

Closed Sessions founder Alex Fruchter (aka. DJ RTC) was featured on the Monday, January 25th 2016 episode of Windy City Live on ABC Chicago. Closed Session is a Chicago based independent record label whose current roster features local rapper Kweku Collins, vocalist Jamila Woods, producers Boathouse and Odd Couple respectively and Clevland rapper Kipp Stone. Fruchter spoke on the inspiration to start the label, the idea that artists need to go to NY/LA to succeed and getting artists the tools and resources to get acclimated to the business side of the industry. The label was also founded by Michael Kolar (studio engineer & owner of SoundScape Studios). The broadcast also featured a performance of "Memorial" from Evanston-native Kweku Collins.

Closed Sessions started off 2016 with the signing of singer Jamila Woods who proceeded to release her debut single 'blk girl soldier' and be featured on Macklemore & Ryan Lewis latest single 'White Privilege II" that same week. Wood is perhaps most known as the vocalist on the hook of Chance The Rapper's "Sunday Candy" - performing the track on Saturday Night Live as well.

Closed Sessions has helped promote, distribute and market releases with locals like Chance The Rapper, Vic Mensa, Alex Wiley, ShowYouSuck and Tree alongside releases featuring national acts like Bun B, Raekwon, Action Bronson and Curren$y.
