Ravyn Lenae did a great job grabbing our attention in 2015 with her breakout single "Blossom Dearie" as well as her stand-up EP, Moon Shoes. The teenage singer closed out our end of the year list at No. 2 with Moon Shoes, a project executively produced by Monte Booker and full of a new soulful flavor that was seemingly nonexistent on the Chicago scene in earlier years.
Now, to kickstart 2016, Ravyn is releasing "ICanNeverFindARideBack", her first official single since her EP release. We are happy to highlight the song today and we had an opportunity to speak with the young talent about the single and her plans moving forward into 2016.
What's the story behind this particular track?
This song is about a girl who is desperate to spend time with a guy who doesn't pay her any mind- to the point where she'll lie and say she doesn't have a ride back home from a party just so she could ride with him [laughs].
