Ric Wilson • "Soul Bounce"

We're in the midst of yet another wave of new talent that has taken cues from those just steps ahead of them and used it to inform their own musical journey. That journey continues this week for Chicago MC and all-around good-guy Ric Wilson who listened to the groundswell of new listeners by dropping the lead single from his upcoming project, Soul Bounce which bears the name of the collection it alludes to here.

Earlier this year, just before the summer months crept in once again and turned the city upside down with warm-weathered activities and countless street festivals among the like, Ric had his computer and assorted belongings stolen in a robbery. While the loss of his entire music library and work on his then-upcoming project was lost, Ric found solace through the strength of the community he belongs to, starting a crowdfunding page to help recoup his losses which he did under a month later. One of the true bright spots in the city, Wilson deserved the outpouring of aid during his time in need and returns the favor here wonderfully on our first peek into what he has in store in the very near future.
