bleeklino • Saturn Fever EP
The multi-talented bleeklino is back with yet another EP. After dropping off 45 minutes of Leftovers at the end of 2015, bleeklino prowled through 2016 with EPs River Bones (April), Disco Juice (August), and now Saturn Fever. Keeping true to his original and unique efforts as a result of his prolific nature, Saturn Fever is split into two separate sides, much like a cassette. Both clocking in at under 20 minutes, "frontside" and "backside" feature plenty of songs both previously released ("Squigs Will Squeal", "Ondelay") and unheard. Chicago vocalist Ju stops by halfway through "backside" to help with the song "Eyes Closed" while trumpeter Ted Klimenko lends his talents throughout "frontside". Seventeen songs can be found inside of this 38 minute collection, so more than one listen is necessary. That being said, if you'll excuse me, I must return to listening. As I prepare to publish this write-up, something tells me bleeklino is already preparing for his next release.
