It's been a minute since we last heard from our good friend Evie The Cool. A trip west to dip in the essence of the coast, Evie has been living it up in the city of Angels since leaving us just before the summer, but stopped back into town this week to drop off her latest mix, an appropriate ode to the one and only Lil Wayne that arrives right around his birthday yesterday on September 27.
Clocking in at just over half an hour, the mix touches on the highlights of one of the most prolific and productive artist we've seen in hip-hop to date. Fresh off many Chicagoans catching him over the weekend at Chance's 'Magnificent Coloring Day', the mix is a perfect way for the youngins' who looked lost during some of the older cuts to get in tune. Either way, it's great to Evie getting another piece of work out and it sounds like we may be seeing her around the city more often very soon as she continues to embark on a series of parties and events to keep the scene moving, regardless of her home address.
