Kweku Collins • "Oasis 2: Maps"
Kweku Collins has released his new song "Oasis 2: Maps". Once again, we see Kweku embodying his unique approach and style with this rework of The Yeah Yeah Yeahs' 2009 song "Maps", the remix you never knew you needed to hear. But you do, because it works shockingly well, a haunting take on some 2000's pop that was stuck in all our heads at one point. It's a testament to Kweku's ability at finding a melody in any way shape or form. "Oasis 2: Maps" takes the skeleton of the 2009 indie-rock anthem and goes from there, filtering it through aqueous sounds and autotune that adds stirring emotional power to Kweku's singing and lyrics. It's an unconventional track but that is what Kweku does best, and once again we're seeing the results of his labor for the benefit of listeners everywhere.
Kweku Collins teams up with Femdot for a perfect collab on new track, "Home Tree", full of calm vibes and deep thoughts, so better your day and give it a listen.
