Manwolves • "Shreddy Krueger"

I had a dream the MANWOLVES were releasing a new song today and my golly did it come true. The new track “Shreddy Krueger” was produced and recorded by Jim Tullio, owner of Butcher Boy Studio in Evanston, IL. Riding the momentum of their latest appearance at Ovrlord’s Emporium show on the 17th, the band continues making impactful music. This being one of their favorite songs, the band has been itching to give this to the people for a while now. In my experience attending some live band performances, I find myself looking for the same vibe found in the records. As an artist I understand this dilemma first hand. Little did I know how much harder translating the atmosphere of recordings to the stage is for bands. But if you’ve had a chance to witness them live, you’ll be happy to find the same energy in their recordings.

The beginning of the song eases in with organ keys trotting through the speakers. With that classic MANWOLVES crescendo, lead MC Jamie Mcnear bellows into the track. Lines like, “Pockets turn to rockets I’m a take off on you h***,” and “Yeah b**** what’s up, came in the game got the whole thang’ f*** up!” account for their undying determination to take their talents to the next level.

“Shreddy Krueger" is a force to be reckoned with, not to mention “8:38” and their “Sauce” visual we’ve come to know and love since September. I’m anxious to see what’s next from the six piece ensemble. Until then this new track will hold you over quite nicely.
