Martin $ky (Ft. Sango) • "Going Going Gone"
Today, beat maker Martin $ky brings us “Going Going Gone” featuring production from Sango. No longer rapping, he’s been fully engulfed in his new journey solely as a producer. His solo work, as well as $ky’s bangers with Melo Makes Music, among others, adds to his already thriving sonic repertoire.
Earlier this month via Twitter, Martin made sure to leave no confusion as to what to expect from him as a producer. “If you think I make music for YOU, unfollow me...if you want the same dark beats with 808s, unfollow me,” were apart of some of the sentiments expressed. If you’ve payed attention to a few of his recent strides on SoundCloud, then you’ve noticed a change in atmosphere. To say his beats don’t go as hard as before is mistakenly inept. What we see from Martin now resonates among well rounded production more than ever before, and they still bang.
I like where his skills have taken him. At this point his bread and butter thrives in polyphony with strong melodic progression. Characteristics no doubt marked by the best of the best. As we await another instance of his prowess, check out his compilation in his “WAVE 1” project. Sometimes I prefer music featuring vocalists, but when it comes to a Martin $ky beat, switching up the playlist bares no difficulty. Check out “Going Going Gone” above.
