Hollyy • What A Shame (Video)
We’re thrilled to premiere the brand new animated music video and lead single “What A Shame” from Chicago-based band Hollyy’s brand new project. The song itself taps into the nostalgic buttery soul that Hollyy continues to deliver in packed live shows across Chicago. A new album should release sometime in 2020 and if this is where we’re headed - it’s going be the perfect soundtrack of the summer. “What A Shame” is their first release since their 2018 debut EP Letters from Lawndale.
Hollyy partnered with a Toronto-based director Solis Animation for the new video, which was illustrated and edited by Leah Solis & Les Solis. We briefly chatted with Hollyy’s lead singer and guitarist Tanner Bednar and he noted, “We’re a Chicago band that continues to be connected to the blossoming Toronto creative community. When Solis Animation was recommended to us, and I got a chance to meet with them, it felt perfect and also very fitting since the song itself was recorded in Toronto.”
Pre-save the track on streaming services now (releases 3/15/20)! If you like what you hear, you can check out Hollyy’s JBTV live studio session from Spring 2019.
