Chance The Rapper Performs "No Problems" on 'Ellen'

Chance The Rapper has ascended the ladder to far-reaching fame throughout a busy 2016 and continued to capitalize on the release of his latest album, Coloring Book, by performing it's breakout single, "No Problems" alongside 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne on the 'Ellen' show Thursday morning.

Just over a week away from his fast-approaching 'Coloring Book Day' at Comiskey Park on the city's south side, Chance once again proved no stage is outside of his lexicon, offering up an inspired rendition of the single for the morning show audience. Doubling down on the message behind his latest hit, Chance prefaced the live set with a set that included an impromptu board meeting for 'Generic Records' which Chance and friends blow into, tossing aside the record label, literally. The latest jab from the purveyor of musical independence to the 'industry', Chance is continuing to stay on message even under the brightest of lights.

It's just the latest in a year that's seen Chance and the Social Experiment crew perform at the ESPY's, on 'The Late Show' with Stephen Colbert, on Good Morning America, Saturday Night Live a couple times....it's honestly getting pretty ridiculous, but we're not mad at it at all. Great to see the guys on another memorable TV set, with plenty more to come in the near future.

Mick Jenkins Freestyles on 'Ebro in The Morning'

While eyes have swayed ever more quickly to the layered essence of the Chicago rap scene, one name in particular that has appeared to find a welcome home just below Chance and Vic has been none other than Mick Jenkins, who's consistent output and inspired flows have positioned him as the conscious center of a city operating around a similar nucleus. Having a standout year unto himself, Jenkins stopped by Hot97's 'Ebro in the Morning' to drop off a freestyle, talk his hometown and give some insight into the impending release of his next project, THC: The Healing Component. Check it all out for yourself right here below.

Joey Purp Freestyles for 'Beats 1' in NYC

Earlier this week, Beats One & Apple Music rolled out a new acapella freestyle series which takes place from the rooftop of their NYC offices. For the first one, they pull Chicago emcee Joey Purp. Locally, the Savemoney representative has long been known to be damn near untouchable in these situations, but his recent escapades with Vic Mensa on Sway in the Morning really made that known on a national level. After a brief intro from Ebro, Purp gets to doing what Purp does. Pairing line after line of some shit not even your neighborhood old head can knock. Currently Purp is across the world performing out in China, but be sure to catch him next week back home alongside Lizzo & Jamila Woods at Chop Shop.
