Goose Island Announces '312 Day' Citywide Concert Slate with Twin Peaks, Post Animal and Japanese Breakfast
Chicago-based brewery Goose Island has announced this year’s “312 Day” - an annual music-heavy event celebrated (when else?) on 3/12. Their “biggest party yet” for their Urban Wheat offering takes the celebrations out of the warehouses that’ve typically held them and into venues spread across the city for a single-day slate of shows. This year’s performers and venues are Twin Peaks at Lincoln Hall, Post Animal at Empty Bottle, and Japanese Breakfast at Thalia Hall.
Chicago natives Twin Peaks last released music in 2017, with the live album Urbs In Horto, which was recorded over three nights in December 2017 at Chicago’s Metro and Thalia Hall. The other hometown boys on the bill, psychedelic rockers Post Animal, released a standout album in 2018 withWhen I Think of You In a Castle. And Japanese Breakfast, the solo project of Michelle Zuaner, most recently released the experimental-pop Soft Sounds From Another Planet to much critical acclaim in 2017.
This isn’t the first time that Twin Peaks and Goose Island have linked up for a collaboration. In 2016, the two joined forces on a limited edition signature beer that was served at that year’s Pitchfork Music Festival. The brewery has also collaborated with artists on signature beers, including Chance The Rapper and Run The Jewels.
Last year’s 312 Day celebration featured Danny Brown and Joey Purp, and was held at House of Vans Chicago.
