Red Bull Sound Select has put together a tour featuring two of Chicago's finest. Mick Jenkins and Smino will combine forces for the 'A Quest For Love Tour' with 12-dates across the United States (plus a pitstop in Toronto). The Chicago show will be held on October 20th at Thalia Hall. The Chicago stop will also feature a set from DJ Boi Jeanius. This of course all comes soon after the news that Mick Jenkins will be releasing his next project The Healing Component on September 23rd, 2016. During Lollapalooza 2016, Red Bull selected Smino as one of their featured artists - championed on installations and via street teams throughout the festival grounds. During Lollapalooza 2015, Red Bull labeled Mick Jenkins as one of ten acts to watch at the festival.

The backing of two Chicago artists for an entire tour is yet another sign of support the Red Bull Sound Select team has shown for Chicago. Over the last few years, Red Bull Sound Select has paired up with Chicago-based curators like Fake Shore Drive and Consequence of Sound to select talent. Most shows featured a national headliner with rising local support. Past shows have included local Chicago support from Mick Jenkins, Smino, Saba, Tink, Martin $ky, G Herbo, Sicko Mobb, ShowYouSuck (and Air Credits), SD, Femdot., Stefan Ponce and of course Chance The Rapper. Headliners have included Cam'Ron, Ja Rule, Homeboy Sandman, Twista, Ty Dolla $ign, Juvenile, Mystikal, Soulja Boy, Ryan Hemsworth and more.

Red Bull Sound Select was built as an artist development program that delivers new music and highlight rising artists. According to Red Bull "The program supports artists through 200+ annual shows and festivals, in-studio collaborations, music distribution and marketing." Red Bull Sound Select produces concerts and other live events with curators in 18 cities around the United States and around the World. All shows are $3.00 with RSVP and first come first serve, offering an affordable concert ticket for music fans.

The next Red Bull Sound Select show in Chicago is August 25th at Double Door featuring Playboi Carti with Finding Novyon (Minneapolis) and Nina Tech (Chicago).

Sidenote - along with the USA Tour, Mick Jenkins announced a 19-date European tour starting Oct. 26th in London and wrapping up Nov. 18th in Manchester.
