Sir Michael Rocks • "Alone"
Directed by Jimmy Regular
Back in October, Sir Michael Rocks released the short project Populair. Acting as a follow-up to summer 2014's Banco, Rocks' eight song EP might be his most concise and introspective piece to date. Without a doubt the most personal track on the project, the closing number "Alone" might be Rocks at his most vulnerable and honest. From girl troubles to introverted depression to a unique plot twist, Rocks and director Jimmy Regular decided to draft something up in the form of a music video / short film. I don't want to give away the ending, but it's worth watching all seven minutes.
For those keeping score at home, this is the sixth music video off of Populair. At only eight songs in length, Rocks is doing a damn fine job at turning this EP into a visual experience. From throwing ice blocks into Lake Michigan to having a house party with a Netherfriends cameo to visiting Japan, these music videos have properly encapsulated the current life of Sir Michael Rocks, a talented name within the Windy City who has been making consistent heat since his rising as 1/2 of The Cool Kids back in 2007.
