DRAMA • "Hopes Up"

Directed by Christopher Kostrzak

DRAMA duo is four for four.

First, we received two songs from the newly formed duo, made up of singer Via Rosa and producer Na'el Shehade. The songs “Hopes Up” and “Walk Away” dropped last autumn and held us over as we await their currently untitled forthcoming EP.

Rather than simply drop a couple singles and an EP down the road, the two creatives decided to give us the video component for both of their current tracks. The first video was for “Walk Away”, which acts as a one-take scene of Ms. Rosa strolling through the grocery store while her friends spontaneously break out into dance. It's simple, effective, and is guaranteed to have you dancing your way out of your 9-5 cubicle.

Keeping the momentum moving forward, the duo released the video for “Hopes Up” yesterday. The electronic crooner was brought even more to life with skate parks, breakdancing, graffiti, and the early stages of being smitten.

Dancers Brittany Harlin and Gabriel Rosario steal the show and turn a vibrant track into a short movie. Look out for more from DRAMA duo as the year progresses and as they continue to tease their upcoming proper project. They recently spoke with Noisey (where we grabbed the quote below), who premiered the video, providing a bit more insight into the buzzing duo. Check back here for more from these two down the road. We're ready.

It’s a lot of fun. I wasn’t making dance music until I met Na’el. It’s nice to make music that makes me wanna dance, because I don’t even like dancing. This actually makes me wanna dance.”
