Calez • Baby

Today is the day Calez has been waiting for. After spending long nights in the studio, dealing with both personal and worldly issues, Calez finally delivers his much-anticipated project, Baby. Baby's 13 tracks deep and features familiar faces like Mick Jenkins, Alex Wiley, Ug Vavy, Kembe-X, and Donnie Trumpet among others.

Two years since his last drop, more mature, more spiritual, and more knowledgeable Calez has has some sobering experiences including becoming a father that have him putting faith in the creator. My favorite song from the project has to be "Mortified", which features another Chicago artist, Kembe-X. Calez ends the song with the line, "We ain't look at ourselves, let's go look in the mirror."

There's a lot going on in this world around us every day, but as we talk to Calez on the phone he tells us, "we have to wake up to personal change and responsibility before we can accommodate each other." Baby reflects the era it was released perfectly and could be Calez' best project to date.
