Round Up • New Releases From Lucki, Lud Foe, Trapo & More

Each week the These Days staff comes across great music from Chicago artists that we could not provide individual features for. In an effort to keep our readers up to date with more of our recent favorites, the Round Up segment provides quick summaries and additional noteworthy content. Check out our latest picks below and feel free to submit a comment if you feel we missed something.

Cassius Tae • "You Should Call Sometime"

Chicago rapper Cassius Tae doesn’t seem to quit. With his most recent drop “You Should Call Sometime” Cassius shares his mind over an old school type beat produced by Space Snow. Throughout the track, Cassius appears be talking to a crush, but we're not sure if she's listening. In any event Cassius is trying to get her attention, and maybe this short interlude is just what was needed. Short, sweet and to the point, "You Should Call Me Sometime" is just a small sample of what Cassius Tae has been releasing lately. If you're late, catch up.

Lucki • "BLOODboy Freestyle"

Back in August, Chicago's Lucki (Eck$) delivered his second in his Freewave series, a project that is still in rotation for a lot of us. If you remember from the first Freewave project, Lucki delivered visuals for Freeways 3 & 4, directed by Sam Kfare, well this week he's back with Sam as they deliver a new video for Bloodboy freestyle. The visuals for this video are simple, yet fun, as we see Undertaker and Kurt Kobain in the visuals, some of Lucki's favorites. Check out the video below.

Lud Foe • "Hold Me Down"

The city of Chicago has many rappers in the city making names for themselves, whether it's Vic, Chance, Mick Jenkins, Towkio, or Alex Wiley, but lets not forget about the new face of the west side, Lud Foe. After releasing his latest project, Welcome 2 Chiraq: Lud Foe Edition, this week he's back with a new song, "Hold me down" produced by friend Kidwond3r. Check the new song below and stay up to date with Lud Foe!

Montana of 300 • "Wifin You"

Back in May Montana of 300, one of the more underrated rappers in Chicago, released his album Fire In The Church. "Wife You", one of the project's more popular cuts with over 5 million streams on Youtube, displays the singing ability that not many of us knew Montana had. Today, Montana dropped visuals for the standout track. Directed by Jakob Owens, Montana shows off his beautiful love interest and dedicates the video to her. Check out the visuals below!

Trapo • "Say it if you mean that (Its like 3:34am)"

With Shade Trees looming imminently, Trapo once again showcases his seemingly effortless but undeniably infectious plot to take the world by storm overnight. Following up his recent "Average Freestyle", Trapo's attached the casual reminder that these tracks are crafted and polished in the late/early hours of the evening. The latest, "Say it if you mean that (Its like 3:34am)", gets right to the heart of an earnest appeal: honesty. It's a step in the right direction to speak your mind, but to back that up with clear intentions and sound heart goes the distance. The kind of thing you expect of your Real Friends. Trapo says this in fewer words, and gets to the truth in a matter of third-person verses. Trust in Trapo: trust yourself.

Wave Chapelle • "Henny Cardi"

Summers over, fall is beginning and we are gearing up for a cold winter, but that doesn't stop Milwaukee native Wave Chapelle from bringing in the good vibes with his brand new track, "Henny Cardi", one that is definitely intended for the party. As usual, Wave Chapelle links up with fellow friend and producer Maajei Vu to deliver another smash. Do yourself a favor, grab a bottle of henny and turn this one on, and see what happens! Check out the new song below.
